Childhood, education and marriage
Professor Majid Samii, who was originally from Rasht, was born in Tehran. After his family returned from Tehran to the city of Rasht, they settled in the Telfon Khaneh neighborhood of this city. After finishing elementary school, he completes his education at Shapur High School in Rasht. Professor Majid Samii immigrated to Germany to continue his studies after completing his secondary education.
He studied medicine at the University of Mainz. In an interview, Prof. Samii said that at a very young age, Professor Wafari had a passion for neurosurgery. Therefore, he chose this field of medicine to continue his studies.
Prof. Majid Samiei has received a special award for Iranian students living in Europe by the Ministry of Science of Iran for his excellent grades in the medical exam and his scientific achievements.
After completing his studies in medicine and biology, Prof. Majid Samii began to continue his specialized studies in the field of neurology at Mainz University under the supervision of Kurt Schurman. Professor Sami received his specialized board degree in 1970 in Germany.
Professor Majid Samii married his cousin Mahshid Samii when he was 19 years old in 1335. He has two children named Amira Samii and Amir Samii. Amira Samii is a graduate of economics. Professor Amir Samii is one of the famous professors and neurosurgeons at the International Institute of Neurology in Hannover, Germany.

Professor Majid Samii started his scientific activities in the neurology hospital, with the position of assistant professor and Deputy.
Also, in the department of pediatric neurosurgery, Professor Samii took charge of this part as well. Professor Majid Samii from Mainz University was awarded the degree of neurosurgery professor in 1351. During his medical and teaching activities, he did not neglect research for a moment. He conducted valuable studies in the field of brain swelling and surgical reconstruction and repair of peripheral nerves.
He started the first course of microscopic surgery training in 1351. With the help of the Volkswagen Institute, he established the first microscopic surgery practice laboratory in Germany in 1356.

Professor Majid Samiei became the head of neurosurgery hospital in Hannover, Germany in 1356. In the same year, Leiden University of the Netherlands awarded him the chair of neurosurgery. Mainz University offered him the chair of neurosurgery in 1366.

He was the president of the International Society of Skull Base between the years 1367 and 1371. Professor Majid Samii is the most famous neurosurgery specialist in the world. He has been the head of the largest international neuroscience center for over 35 years. Neurosurgery Congress
International Neuroscience Institute was founded by Professor Majid Samii in 2000 in Hanover, Germany. Professor Samii Post assumed the presidency of the INI Foundation for the further development of this center after announcing his retirement from the University of Hannover and the headship of the neurosurgery institutes at Noordashdat Hospital.
INI Institute is known as the brain of Hanover because of its special design and architecture. This institute is currently managed under the supervision of Professor Samii and with the deputyship of his son Professor Amir Samii.
Establishment of a 400-bed hospital in Rasht, Iran
With the presence of German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder in March 2007, Professor Majid Samii started the establishment of Professor Samii’s 400-bed hospital in Rasht, where the German Neurological Center will cooperate with the neurosurgery department of this hospital.
Apart from its therapeutic use, this hospital will also be active in research. The progress and development of this hospital will be personally supervised by Professor Sami.
In September 2013, Professor Majid Samii started building the largest oncology research and research center in the Middle East at Lakan University of Medical Sciences in Rasht. The land where this center is located has an area of 4 hectares and with infrastructure of 20,000 square meters, a budget of around 65 billion tomans has been estimated for its completion. This hospital will be built in two years.
Professor Samii’s activities in Iran

Social Security Organization of Iran chose this great doctor as the head of neurosurgery department of Milad Hospital in Tehran. In this way, he organized a comprehensive training course so that this hospital becomes one of the most advanced and best neurosurgery centers in Iran.
He also organized the International Neurosurgery Symposium in Tehran in 2005. Among the other actions he took in Iran, we can mention the establishment of a scientific and cultural foundation and an oncology research center in Rasht and the establishment of another hospital in Rasht named after himself, the Samii Hospital.

He has trained many students in different countries who are currently working. This grand master has received a medal of honor from the president of West Germany for his services, which is considered one of the most honorable awards for us Iranians.
After a few months, he again achieved a new achievement, which was receiving the Lower Saxony scientific award. He also received the most important honor of China.
Due to the research done by Professor Majid Samii on brain injuries, the death rate due to brain death decreased significantly.
This caused a group of 100 neurosurgeons from Africa to come to Germany for training with Dr. Sami, who returned to their country after completing the training.
After the end of the Africa project, the Hanover Journalists’ Club awarded him the Hannover Leibniz Circle Award.
He was awarded the best neurosurgeon award in 1392 and 1393. Also, after this great honor, the mayor of Rasht presented the golden key of the city to Dr. Samii.
Awards and honors
In 2013, the Hanover Press Club awarded the Leibniz Ring to Prof. Majid Samii for the Africa Hundred project. Professor Samii wants to bring 100 young surgeons from Africa to Germany for training in the Africa Hundred project. After returning to Africa, these young surgeons begin training other African doctors.

In 2013, the Federation of Brain Surgery Associations awarded Professor Majid Samiei the best brain surgeon of the year award. In the World Neurosurgery Journal, in the introduction of the neurosurgeon of the year, the head of the Chinese Neurosurgery Federation wrote:
In brain surgery today, no one is equal to Majid Samii’s skill and power of assessment and excellence in teaching, managerial results and global understanding. In 2013, he was chosen as the surgeon of the year with full merit.
The award of the best scientist and neurosurgeon in 2014 was awarded to Professor Samii by the International Association of Neurosurgeons. Every year, the Society of Neurological Surgeons gives this award to one of the doctors in this field.
The first golden key of the city of Rasht was presented to Professor Samii in a special ceremony by Rasht Municipality in September 2013.

On behalf of you, dear people and the mayor of Rasht, today they gave me the golden key of the city.
He further said:
With this key, we want to open the gates of knowledge and science for all of our great country, Iran. This key should open all the gates of science and knowledge in all parts of our beloved Iran in the future.
The title of honorary professor was awarded by the University of Tehran on October 10, 2010 to Professor Majid Samii.
